| 背面描述 | A detailed color depiction of the historic Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel (Wiener Riesenrad) dominates the reverse, rendered with fine lattice-work spokes radiating from a central hub to the outer rim, with the iconic red passenger gondolas shown suspended around the wheel's circumference. Trees and foliage in naturalistic color appear at the base of the structure, lending depth and authenticity to the scene. The legend VIENNA FERRIS WHEEL is inscribed in two lines along the upper arc of the coin. |

Palau has issued commemorative silver in volume since the 1990s, and many pieces from that program are strictly novelty items with no deeper issuance rationale. This one, however, references the Riesenrad — the Vienna giant wheel built in 1897 by English engineer Walter Basset for the Jubilee celebrations of Emperor Franz Joseph I. It survived both World Wars, though half its cars were destroyed by retreating German forces in 1945 and never replaced, reducing the original 30 gondolas to the 15 that still run today.
