| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a three-masted sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun on the horizon, with a dove in flight above; the shield is supported by crossed plow and shovel below, and surmounted by a scroll inscribed THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE.
