Cook Islands has issued commemorative five-dollar silver pieces under licensing arrangements that have little to do with the islands' own monetary history — the "Summer" designation here places this within a seasonal series marketed primarily to the European collector market. These themed series proliferated sharply after 2015 as Pacific micro-state issuers competed for secondary-market shelf space, with Cook Islands among the most prolific.
