| Obverse description | The obverse bears the fourth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed and adorned with a necklace and earrings. The portrait is rendered in a restrained, realistic style characteristic of Blunt's engraving. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II CANADA D·G·REGINA, with the denomination 5 DOLLARS and date 2019 also inscribed, along with the engraver's initials SB positioned near the truncation. |

| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by Canadian artist Jori van der Linde, presents a richly detailed zodiac composition dedicated to the sign of Aries (March 21–April 20). An outer ring of Roman numerals arranged in the manner of a clock face frames an inner ring set with sparkling Swarovski® crystals. At the centre, the Aries constellation pattern and its traditional astrological symbol are rendered in colour against a deep celestial field. The designer's initials JV appear within the design. |
