| Reverse description | The reverse features all twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac arranged in a circular composition around a central Ba Gua (Eight Trigrams) octagonal motif enclosing a yin-yang symbol, rendered against an antiqued silver field with engraved floral and cloud motifs in the Chinese artistic tradition. Each of the twelve zodiac animals — Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig — is individually applied in vivid polychrome colour, depicted in high relief with naturalistic detail among branches, rocks, and blossoms. The antiqued background provides strong contrast to the coloured figures, enhancing the decorative effect of this large-format collector piece. No inscriptions appear on the reverse. |
