| Beschrijving keerzijde | A colossal standing male figure representing the ancient statue of Helios, the Colossus of Rhodes, dominates the central field in high relief, depicted with a radiate sun crown and raising one arm aloft bearing a gold-colored torch. The lower portion of the reverse features a full-color printed scene of the ancient harbor of Rhodes with sailing vessels on blue water and a hillside city rendered in naturalistic color. A small series privy mark appears to the left of the figure. The curved legend THE COLOSSUS OF RHODES arcs along the upper rim, and the date 2013 is inscribed to the lower right of the field. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Palau has issued commemorative silver dollars under various licensing arrangements since the 1990s, and this "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" series sits squarely in that commercial tradition — produced for the collector market with no meaningful circulation history. The Colossus of Rhodes, erected around 280 BC and toppled by earthquake in 226 BC, stood for fewer than 55 years before falling. Ancient sources describe the bronze statue lying in ruins for nearly nine centuries before Arab forces melted the remains down following the conquest of Rhodes in 654 AD.
