| 表面の説明 | The obverse features the Public Seal of Niue at centre, depicted as a crowned circular badge bearing a floral motif encircled by a wreath, all surmounted by a royal crown. The seal is flanked by two crossed palm fronds at the base. The denomination FIVE DOLLARS arcs along the upper left field in raised lettering, while the inscription ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI appears on a ribbon below the seal. The date 2025 is positioned in the lower field. The entire design is rendered in high-relief proof finish against a mirror-polished field. |

Niue has operated as a prolific licensing issuer for decades, contracting its sovereign minting rights to produce commemorative coinage with no domestic circulation function. This piece folds together two distinct subjects: a reigning British monarch whose portrait carries legal-tender status across several Pacific territories including Niue, and the Latvian dainas — the short, unrhymed folk songs collected and systematized in the 19th century largely through the monumental work of Krišjānis Barons, who catalogued over 200,000 variants between 1894 and 1915.
The dainas were inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2001.
