| 正面描述 | The central field features a faithful high-relief reproduction of the obverse of the celebrated 1804 Draped Bust Dollar, depicting the draped bust of Liberty in right-facing profile, her flowing hair adorned with a ribbon bow, surrounded by fifteen six-pointed stars arranged in an arc and the legend LIBERTY above in the inner field. The date 1804 appears in the exergue of the inner coin design, which is rendered with colorized toning to simulate the patina of an original specimen. The outer border of the coin carries the inscriptions NIUE ISLAND and FIVE DOLLARS flanking the Niue coat of arms at top, with specifications 2 oz, 2025, and Ag 999 inscribed along the lower border on a darkened annular field, all separated by dot stops. |

The original 1804 Bust Dollar was not struck in 1804. The U.S. Mint produced them in the 1830s as diplomatic gifts, backdated to avoid the appearance of a new coinage — making them among the most deliberately manufactured rarities in American numismatic history. Only 15 specimens are known to exist across two classes, and the last example to appear at auction sold for over $7 million.
Niue's 2025 homage joins a crowded field of tributes to the "King of American Coins." The Charles III obverse is standard for current Niue bullion issues licensed through the Royal Mint.
