Pick 37 covers a long signature run — Bobb, Demas, Harewood, and Dookeran each signed notes within the same series, making the specific signature combination the primary variable among collectors. Demas served as Central Bank Governor during a period of significant economic stress for Trinidad and Tobago, when falling oil revenues in the mid-1980s forced a sharp policy rethink after years of petroleum-fuelled expansion.

De La Rue had held the printing contract for Trinidad and Tobago through multiple series by this point, a relationship dating back to pre-independence issues.
