| Obverse description | The third portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara (royal diadem), a necklace, and drop earrings. The Queen is rendered at approximately 64 years of age in the style of sculptor Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The encircling legend reads ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA, with the sovereign's name arching above and the regal title below. The field is smooth and mirror-like, consistent with proof striking. |
