Obverse description Frontal bust of Emperor Tiberius II Constantine, crowned and wearing imperial loros and mantle, depicted in full imperial regalia. The emperor holds a mappa in his right hand and an eagle-tipped sceptre in his left, with a cross surmounting the eagle finial. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic flat, hieratic style of Byzantine coinage, with the bust occupying the full field. The peripheral legend in Latin capital letters identifies the emperor by his titulature.
