| Obverse description | Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Justinian I facing right, rendered in the late antique imperial style. The emperor wears a diadem and a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, with visible segmented cuirass beneath. The portrait occupies the majority of the flan, with the encircling Latin legend partially visible along the rim. The execution is characteristic of the Rome mint's somewhat provincial style during the mid-sixth century. |
