This piece belongs to Poland's regional token coinage boom of the 2000s, when hundreds of municipalities issued brass schilling-style notgeld as local commercial currency — partly as civic promotion, partly as a hedge against the zloty's exclusion from eurozone adoption debates. Miastko, a small town in Pomerania, issued several denominations denominated in "rummele," a unit with no legal tender status and no fixed exchange rate, redeemable only at participating local businesses. The boar reverse ties the issue to the surrounding Bytów County forests, historically significant hunting ground.
