Reverse description Central device depicts the crowned lion of Denmark passant, facing left with tail raised, set within an ornate wreath of laurel and olive branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, above which appear the mintmaster's initials HC. A royal crown surmounts the composition at the top of the inner circle. The circular legend around the periphery reads ·IIII·MARCK·DANSKE· followed by the date, denoting the denomination and issuing authority. The design reflects the refined baroque engraving style prevalent at the Copenhagen Mint in the late seventeenth century.
