Obverse description Right-facing veiled and draped bust of Empress Maria Theresia, rendered in high relief in the Baroque court style. The empress is depicted with elaborately coiffed hair partially covered by a lace veil, wearing a low-cut gown with a brooch at the décolletage and a draped mantle. The circular Latin legend surrounding the effigy reads M THERESIA D G R IMP HU BO REG, abbreviated titles identifying her as Empress of Rome and Queen of Hungary and Bohemia. The finely milled border frames the design on the periphery.
