| Beschrijving voorzijde | The national emblem of the Lao People's Democratic Republic is depicted in high relief at center, featuring That Luang stupa framed by a ceremonial avenue flanked by rice sheaves and a cogwheel at the base, with scrolled ribbons bearing Lao script inscriptions. The emblem is enclosed within a plain inner circle. The circular legend 'THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin letters, while the date '1999' appears prominently in the lower field below the emblem. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Laos produced a steady stream of commemorative silver issues through the 1990s almost entirely for the export collector market — domestic circulation of such pieces was never the intent. The 1999 lunar rabbit issue was struck under a licensing arrangement typical of Southeast Asian central banks of the period, with actual production almost certainly contracted to a European mint rather than carried out in Vientiane.
