| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a finely detailed naturalistic portrait of a European beaver (Castor fiber) depicted in right profile, crouching on its characteristic broad, flat tail and gnawing on a small branch. The animal's dense, textured fur is rendered with great sculptural precision. Branches and twigs frame the scene in the background, creating a habitat setting. The Latin scientific name 'CASTOR FIBER' appears in the right field, while the curved legend 'VESZÉLYEZTETETT ÁLLATVILÁG' (Endangered Wildlife) runs along the lower periphery. |

Hungary's 2000-dated silver issues formed part of a broader wildlife conservation series that the Magyar Nemzeti Bank developed through the late 1990s, coinciding with increased Carpathian Basin ecological initiatives. The European beaver had been hunted to regional extinction in Hungary by the early 20th century; documented reintroduction efforts along the Danube tributaries only began gaining traction in the 1990s.
Mintage for this issue was tightly limited, as was consistent with the MNB's collector-focused precious metal program of the period.
