| Obverse description | The obverse of this large oval gold proof coin features a central depiction of Saint Tryphon (Святый Мученик Трифонъ), the patron saint of hunters, rendered in a Byzantine-inspired relief style. The saint is shown mounted on a rearing horse beneath an ornate Romanesque-style arch adorned with decorative foliate scrollwork on either side. Saint Tryphon is depicted with a halo, his right hand raised in blessing, evoking iconographic tradition. In the lower portion of the field, the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II appears alongside the denomination '3000 DOLLARS', the year '2011', the fineness mark 'Au 9999', the mint mark 'mw', and the issuer inscription 'NIUE ISLAND'.
