Obverse description The obverse of this large oval gold proof coin features a central depiction of Saint Tryphon (Святый Мученик Трифонъ), the patron saint of hunters, rendered in a Byzantine-inspired relief style. The saint is shown mounted on a rearing horse beneath an ornate Romanesque-style arch adorned with decorative foliate scrollwork on either side. Saint Tryphon is depicted with a halo, his right hand raised in blessing, evoking iconographic tradition. In the lower portion of the field, the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II appears alongside the denomination '3000 DOLLARS', the year '2011', the fineness mark 'Au 9999', the mint mark 'mw', and the issuer inscription 'NIUE ISLAND'. The Cyrillic legend 'СТЫЙ МЧН ТРИФОНЪ' frames the arch above the central composition.

Reverse description The reverse presents a finely detailed high-relief scene of the Royal Hunt (Царская Охота), depicting Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich mounted on horseback in full traditional 17th-century Muscovite attire, a falcon perched upon his raised left hand. In the background, the crenellated walls and towers of the Kremlin are rendered in lower relief, with a horse-drawn carriage and attendants visible to the right. The composition evokes the grandeur of imperial falconry as practiced at the Muscovite court. The Cyrillic legend 'ЦАРСКАЯ ОХОТА' is inscribed in an archaic Slavonic script at the top of the field, while the tsar's name 'ЦАРЬ АЛЕКСЕЙ МИХАЙЛОВИЧ' is inscribed in a sweeping curve across the lower field.
