Obverse description Central within the brass field, a detailed depiction of the Taedong Gate (Great East Gate) of Pyongyang, rendered in fine relief atop its stone foundation with traditional Korean multi-tiered pavilion rooflines. The circular legend in Korean Hangul script curves along the upper portion of the brass centre, reading the full name of the Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The denomination '30 WON' appears in the lower exergue of the brass centre. The aluminium outer ring is adorned with an intricate floral and foliate decorative pattern in low relief.
