Obverse description Central design within the brass inner disc depicts the Taedong Gate (Great East Gate of Pyongyang), a multi-tiered traditional Korean pavilion structure set atop a stone rampart, rendered in fine detail with surrounding foliage at the base. The curved Korean-script legend of the Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea runs along the upper periphery of the inner disc, with the denomination '30 WON' inscribed in Latin characters at the base of the central field. The aluminium outer ring is decorated with an intricate repeating floral and foliate relief pattern encircling the entire obverse.
