Additional information

The Bounty has been Cook Islands' default silver bullion motif since the mid-1980s, making it one of the longest-running continuous design programs in modern bullion coinage. That longevity is administrative as much as aesthetic — Cook Islands operates under New Zealand's monetary umbrella but retains the right to issue its own legal tender, and the Bounty series has functioned as a reliable vehicle for that arrangement across dozens of weights and formats over four decades.

At one kilogram, this issue sits in a weight class that attracts institutional stacking rather than collector handling. The .9999 fineness, finer than the traditional .999 bullion standard, was adopted to compete directly with Canadian and Australian offerings in the Asian wholesale market.
