Reverse description St. Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, is depicted seated facing, holding a salt box in his right hand and a crozier in his left hand, emblematic of his role as the founding bishop of Salzburg. A circular Latin legend surrounding the figure reads 'S RUPERTUS EPS SALISBURG' with the four-digit date '1754' incorporated into the legend; a mitre device bisects the legend at the top of the coin, commencing at 12 o'clock. The overall composition is rendered in the baroque ecclesiastical style characteristic of mid-eighteenth century Salzburg coinage.
