3 Centavos Provisional Government

Oaxaca's Provisional Government issues of 1915 were struck under the authority of Guillermo Meixueiro and the local Soberanista movement, which refused to recognize Carranza's Constitutionalist government and maintained de facto independence from the national administration for much of the Revolution. The state operated its own mint and issued a distinct series of copper and silver coins to fill a vacuum left by the near-total collapse of trustworthy circulating currency in southern Mexico.

The 3 centavos denomination is among the scarcer values in this series by surviving population.
