Obverse description The Somali Republic coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a five-pointed star and supported by two leopards rampant, with crossed olive branches below tied by a ribbon. The legend SOMALI REPUBLIC arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 25 SHILLINGS is inscribed in two lines across the lower field. A beaded border frames the entire design.

Additional information

Somalia's government had no meaningful relationship with either figure on this coin — the pairing reflects the early-2000s wave of Somali novelty issues produced entirely for the collector market by foreign licensing agents, not by any functioning monetary authority in Mogadishu. The country was in the midst of a stateless interregnum, and the "Central Bank of Somalia" imprint carried essentially no institutional weight at the time of issue.
