| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a commemorative scene marking the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. In the central field, a military column of armored vehicles advances across a mountainous landscape, while two military aircraft fly overhead. A decorative star and laurel sprigs appear at the top of the design. The circular legend «ВЫВОДА СОВЕТСКИХ ВОЙСК ИЗ АФГАНИСТАНА» (Withdrawal of Soviet Troops from Afghanistan) runs along the rim, with the inscription «30 ЛЕТ» (30 Years) prominently placed in the upper portion of the field. |

| Additional information |
Transnistria has no international recognition and issues currency accepted nowhere outside its own borders, yet the Transnistrian Republican Bank has produced commemorative coinage with remarkable consistency since the early 1990s. This piece marks the 30th anniversary of the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan, completed in February 1989 under General Boris Gromov, whose staged crossing of the Friendship Bridge at Termez became one of the Cold War's most photographed endings.
The Afghan war claimed an estimated 15,000 Soviet lives over nine years. Gromov was, by official Soviet account, the last soldier across.
