| Reverse description | The reverse commemorates the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Tiraspol. At left, a stylized obelisk monument rises from a stepped plinth in the field. To the right, a laurel branch curves upward alongside the large numerals '75' above the Cyrillic word 'ЛЕТ' (Years). The dates '1944–2019' appear in the lower exergue. The curved Cyrillic legend 'ОСВОБОЖДЕНИЯ ТИРАСПОЛ' arcs around the upper portion of the coin. |

| Additional information |
Transnistria — the narrow strip of land between the Dniester River and the Ukrainian border — declared independence from Moldova in 1990, a move that triggered a brief but bloody armed conflict in 1992. The ceasefire left Russian peacekeeping forces stationed there indefinitely, and the territory has remained in a state of unrecognized limbo ever since. Tiraspol, its capital, fell under Moldovan Soviet control in August 1941 and was retaken by Soviet forces on April 12, 1944 — the event this coin commemorates.
No UN member state recognizes Transnistrian sovereignty, yet the Republican Bank has issued coins continuously since the early 2000s.
