Part of the Bank of Russia's ongoing animated characters series, this piece commemorates Gena the Crocodile from the beloved Soviet animated franchise *Cheburashka*, created by Eduard Uspensky in 1966 and first adapted to film by Soyuzmultfilm in 1969. The series became one of the most exported pieces of Soviet soft culture, particularly to Japan, where it developed a dedicated following that outlasted the USSR itself.
