Obverse description The obverse features the third definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Arnold Machin, depicted as a right-facing draped bust with her hair pinned up and adorned with a tiara. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The circumferential legend reads 'QUEEN ELIZABETH II · BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY' arcing around the upper portion of the coin, with the denomination '25 PENCE' inscribed along the lower arc, separated by raised dots. The overall composition is characteristically Machin in its refined, classical style.
