Reverse description The reverse presents a stylized Northwest Coast Indigenous design depicting a thunderbird rendered in the formline art tradition, with bold sweeping curves and ovoid forms representing the creature's head, wing, and body in dynamic composition. A carved ceremonial object, likely a canoe prow or totem element, appears in the lower portion of the design. The bilingual legend OCTOBER 1999 OCTOBRE arcs across the upper field, while CANADA appears along the lower rim. The engraver's initials JER are incused in the lower left field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border characteristic of the Millennium series coinage.
