Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, portrayed at approximately 64 years of age, wearing the George IV State Diadem, a necklace, and drop earrings, as modelled by Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The legend encircles the portrait, reading ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA at the upper periphery and 25 CENTS along the lower periphery. The truncation of the bust is clean, and the overall composition is typical of the fourth definitive portrait used on Canadian coinage from 1990 onward.
