Opmerkingen

Adamuz is a small municipality in Córdoba province, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional currency when Republican-zone coinage dried up almost entirely after mid-1936. The Frente Popular designation marks this as a locally administered issue under the Popular Front coalition rather than through any regional banking authority — the political branding was deliberate, a statement of Republican alignment as much as a practical monetary measure.

These Andalusian municipal issues were produced in extremely small quantities, often on whatever paper stock was available, and most were redeemed or destroyed within months. Survivors are genuinely scarce.
