Obverse description Central field displays the Norwegian royal coat of arms: a shield bearing a crowned lion rampant holding an axe, the shield studded with bosses along its border and surmounted by a large royal crown. The circular legend runs along the entire periphery of the coin, reading from lower left upward and around, separated by small dot stops. The rim is milled with fine dentils.
