Reverse description Central device consists of a crowned oval shield bearing the rampant lion of Norway, depicted passant with axe, set against a horizontally lined field. The date 1788 is divided and flanked on either side of the shield in the lower field. A royal crown surmounts the shield from above. The circular Latin legend around the periphery gives the denomination and currency designation, while mint master initials and the Kongsberg mintmark appear in the lower exergual area.
