| Reverse description | A large Cross of the Order of Christ dominates the central field, rendered in high relief with a quatrefoil motif in each of the four quadrants, evoking the reverse design of historic Portuguese gold peças struck under Dom Pedro I. The circular legend IN HOC SIGNO VINCES — the imperial motto meaning 'In this sign you shall conquer' — is distributed around the periphery, alongside the date 2023. The engraver's signature R. VASQUEZ and the mint name CASA DA MOEDA appear in the left and right fields respectively. The overall composition is a faithful homage to the coinage of Dom Pedro, Emperor of Brazil and King of Portugal. |
