| 正面描述 | The state emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting a hydroelectric power station and electric transmission tower beneath a radiant sunburst and five-pointed star, framed by sheaves of rice tied with a ribbon bearing the inscription of the republic's name in Hangul. The circular legend reading the full name of the Central Bank of Korea in Hangul runs around the upper periphery. The fineness designation '999' appears to the lower left and the weight indication '1OZ' to the lower right, with the denomination '2000원' (2000 Won) prominently inscribed along the lower rim. |

Issued to commemorate the death of Kim Il-sung on July 8, 1994, this piece was produced primarily for hard currency export — North Korea has long used commemorative bullion coinage as a foreign exchange mechanism, selling through intermediaries in Austria and elsewhere while the pieces themselves were never intended to circulate domestically. The 2,000 won face value is essentially fictional relative to any practical exchange rate.
