| Obverse description | A large stylised Gothic monogram letter 'B', rendered in bold blackletter script, occupies the central field of the obverse. The denomination '2000 KRONOR' and the country name 'SVERIGE' are inscribed in two lines at the lower portion of the field. A Latin legend arcs around the upper periphery reading 'GAUDE BIRGITTA FILIA CANTICUM TIBI DEBETUR GLORIE', translating as 'Rejoice O daughter Birgitta, for you are worthy of glorious songs of praise'. Small engraver's initials appear discreetly in the left and right fields flanking the monogram. The overall design is executed in a clean, modern numismatic style with mirror proof fields enhancing the relief of the Gothic lettering. |
