| 裏面の説明 | The reverse presents an elaborate high-relief sculptural interpretation of the Birth of Venus, inspired by the classical mythological tradition. The goddess Venus stands centrally in full figure upon a scallop shell rising from the sea, her long flowing hair cascading over one shoulder as she raises one arm gracefully above her head. Surrounding her are numerous mythological figures including sea gods, nymphs, and winged putti, all rendered with exceptional anatomical detail and dramatic baroque composition. Playful cupids occupy the lower foreground, while additional figures recline and gesture in animated poses throughout the field. The legend THE BIRTH OF VENUS is inscribed in spaced serif capitals along the upper left arc of the coin. |

Cameroon has issued coins under its own authority since independence in 1960, but the country's high-value commemorative program — particularly the oversized silver issues — is almost entirely driven by European private minting houses producing for the collector market rather than domestic circulation. This piece was never intended to see a cash register in Yaoundé.
