Reverse description Three-quarter portrait of Ödön Lechner (1845–1914), the celebrated Hungarian architect, depicted seated and holding a rolled architectural drawing or drafting instrument, wearing a cap and period attire. Behind him to the right, a detailed elevation of one of his landmark buildings — identifiable as the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest — is rendered in the field. The engraver's monogram 'FM' appears in the lower right field. The legend 'LECHNER ÖDÖN' is inscribed in relief along the upper border, with the birth and death years '1845' and '1914' placed to the upper right.
