| 正面描述 | The crowned arms of San Marino occupy the central field, depicting the three towers of Guaita, Cesta, and Montale atop a rocky outcrop. An oak sprig and a laurel sprig flank the shield at left and right respectively, while a ribbon below bears the national motto. The engraver's signature A. BIANCINI appears in small characters within the lower field. The circular legend REPUBBLICA DI S. MARINO arcs along the upper periphery, with LIBERTAS inscribed on the ribbon at the base. |

San Marino issued this piece as part of its long-running annual thematic series, through which the republic has exercised full minting autonomy since its 1862 monetary convention with Italy. The 1982 program focused on religious tolerance — a pointed theme given the broader tensions of that decade, including the 1981 assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II and ongoing debates within the Italian political sphere about the revised Concordat with the Vatican, which was being renegotiated throughout the early 1980s and finalized in 1984.
