The castle on the left represents Leuven and the one on the right Diest, with the intermediate localities LUB-BEEK, TIELT-WINGE, and BEKKE-VOORT named in cartouches in the lower field. Two stars flank the date range '1781-1981' along the lower arc, commemorating the bicentenary of the Leuven-Diest stone road.
