Issued to mark the 120th anniversary of the birth of Ivana Brlić Mažuranić, the Croatian author whose 1916 children's collection Priče iz davnine earned her two nominations for the Nobel Prize in Literature — a distinction no other Croatian writer has matched. She was also the first woman elected a full member of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts, though the honor came only in 1929, decades after her work had already established her reputation across Central Europe.
