Reverse description The reverse reproduces in fine detail Diego Velázquez's celebrated oil painting Las lanzas o La rendición de Breda (The Surrender of Breda, c. 1635), preserved in the Museo Nacional del Prado. The composition depicts the historic moment of the surrender of the Dutch city of Breda, with the victorious Spanish commander Ambrosio Spinola receiving the keys from the defeated Dutch governor Justin of Nassau, flanked by soldiers bearing lances. The denomination 200 EURO, the series inscription PINTORES ESPAÑOLES, and the Madrid mint mark M appear within the design.
