| Beschrijving keerzijde | A finely detailed high-relief effigy of an Anatolian mouflon (Ovis gmelini anatolica) ram depicted in left profile, standing on a textured grassy ground. The animal's large, dramatically curved spiral horns dominate the upper field. The background field is divided into a frosted matte lower section and a deeply polished mirror upper section, creating a striking contrast that enhances the naturalistic rendering of the subject. The curved legend 'ANADOLU YABAN KOYUNU' is inscribed along the upper periphery of the coin. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Turkey's "New Lira" redenomination took effect on 1 January 2005, dropping six zeros from the old lira after years of inflation that had rendered the currency nearly unmanageable in daily transactions. This coin was struck in that first year of the new denomination, making it an early artifact of that monetary reset. The Anatolian mouflon — Ovis gmelini anatolica — is endemic to the Konya plain and was listed as endangered at the time of issue, with wild population estimates running well below a thousand individuals.
