| Obverse description | Central motif depicts the Taedong Gate (East Gate) of Pyongyang, rendered in fine relief with its characteristic multi-tiered traditional Korean pavilion architecture set upon a stone podium, with stylized rockwork and foliage in the lower field. The circular legend in Hangul script arcs around the upper periphery, reading the full name of the issuing authority. The denomination '20 원' appears in the lower exergue below the gate structure. |
