| Obverse description | Central design features a detailed rendering of the Taedong Gate (Taedongmun), the historic East Gate of Pyongyang, depicted in traditional Korean palatial architectural style with multi-tiered pagoda roofing and stone base, set against a naturalistic background with trees and foliage. The circular legend along the upper periphery reads in Hangul the name of the issuing authority.
