Obverse description Central design features a detailed high-relief depiction of the Taedong Gate (Taedongmun), the eastern gate of Pyongyang, rendered in fine engraving with multi-tiered traditional Korean pavilion roofs, stone ramparts, and surrounding bare trees. The Hangul legend of the issuing authority curves along the upper rim, while the denomination '20 WON' appears in Latin characters at the base of the design in the exergue.
