Reverse description The reverse features a bust-length portrait of Kim Jeong-ho (김정호), the celebrated 19th-century Korean cartographer, facing slightly left, rendered in fine relief against a mirror-like field. He is depicted wearing a traditional Korean topknot hat and robes, with a long beard. To his right, an outline map of the Korean peninsula is shown, referencing his monumental work, the Daedongyeojido (大東輿地圖). Korean legends arc around the upper periphery reading 지리학자 김정도와 대동여지도, with Chinese characters 大東輿地圖 also present. Birth and death dates 1804–1866 appear at the left, and the Juche year and Gregorian date 주체 94 (2005) are inscribed along the lower border.
