The huge castle on the top of the mountain is one of the most impressive buildings of Carinthia. In the lower right of the coin is the coat of arms of Carinthia and the German word `Kärnten` with the year of the mintage, circled by the words `Burg Hochosterwitz`. To the right of the shield the engraver`s name.
