| Opmerkingen |
This note bridges one of the Dominican Republic's most turbulent transitions. Rafael Trujillo, who had controlled the country — and its central bank — since 1930, was assassinated in May 1961. The 1962 signatures belong to officials operating under the provisional governments that followed; by 1963, the second signature pair reflects the brief democratic administration of Juan Bosch, who was himself ousted in a military coup just seven months after taking office.
The serial numbering across both date variants is continuous, confirming the two issues were planned as a single production run split across successive administrations. ABNC plates were retained without revision between printings.
