| Obverse description | Printed in red on a fine guilloche underprint, the obverse carries a central intaglio vignette of the Puerta del Conde, the historic colonial gate in Santo Domingo, set within an arched frame with the caption PUERTA DEL CONDE below. A circular orange bank seal inscribed SANTO DOMINGO / DISTRITO NACIONAL / REPUBLICA DOMINICANA is positioned to the right, with the denomination VEINTE PESOS ORO in bold lettering beneath it. Large numeral 20 counterfoils appear at each corner, flanked by ornate scrollwork borders, with two facsimile signatures at the lower margin identifying the Gobernador del Banco Central and the Secretario de Estado de Finanzas. |

The central field is dominated by a dense guilloche underprint repeating REPUBLICA DOMINICANA, over which the large denomination word VEINTE is printed in intaglio, with VEINTE PESOS ORO in bold letters along the lower panel. |
